Sonnet of the Heart

In a walk not lonely do I see

Your dark complexion, eyes staring at me.

In them are mystery, tranquil dwellings,

A million stars and dreams beneath, dancing.

You wrap your arms around me tight, my love.

My heart falls deep into wings as a dove.

Yearning, yearning drives all this sacred hope.

With you, I can prance like an antelope.

Love! Your hand caresses me as we go.

With wings I can soar, though I am a doe.

Oh love, my love, you can hear my heartbeat.

Ev’ry breath of mine for your love entreats.

Yes, you will love me; I am ever yours.

Yes, you will love me; my heart is secure.
