Summer is a time when our opportunities are so plentiful that we become exhausted from them all. The months that we plan to break are laden with church camps, writing time, editing, vacations, more time with family, among all other opportunities that come to us. It’s easy to fall into a more rigorous flow than what the school year had been and to ignore the necessary time of rest.
I’m struggling to rest as well. Setting deadlines for myself in my writing has left me revising a chapter nearly every day, in addition to work, chores, and family events. I hope this summer for more rest than I feel like I can achieve, and I choose now to look for those moments when I need to breathe.
But before I take that time of rest, I’d like to share some of my summer with you. There are updates to Wings of a Hero that have changed since the school year, and I have good news to share with you all!
What is Wings of a Hero?
Wings of a Hero is a middle grade fantasy series. It’s a story that’s been on my heart since I was twelve years old, and I’m in the process of bringing this story to life. If all goes as planned, the series will cover four books that follow Saka, an outcast wolf who must take back the continent of Phiriyuta from an evil king.
When is the first book of Wings of a Hero coming out?
Lord willing, I’ve bumped up the release date from spring of 2025 to this November, 2024. I decided to bring up the deadline (and increase my workload) because the market will not be in a good place during springtime. So, as long as everything stays according to plan, it will be released very soon! I’m currently on my third and forth revisions.
What’s the title, and what’s it about?
The official title will be Heir of Promise, and I’m excited to reveal more in the future. I plan for my next post, on July 2nd, to be a cover reveal and blurb reveal. I will promptly update the Wings of a Hero tab on my website after it is posted. I’m so excited, and I hope you are too!
